KEEP THE HANDS BUSY

Another one for our young toddlers. Babies and toddlers learn so much about their world through their senses and especially touch. An easy and fun activity to help develop their tactile awareness is a fabric box.

Find an old box, maybe an old wipes box, and fill it with a variety of different materials, of different colours and textures. As your child explores the variety of fabrics, you can use a variety of words to describe what they are feeling and seeing, giving labels to the tactile experiences.

It is also just a fun activity for them to be able to take everything out of a box, and if you are lucky put it back in!
